Finally the Bead Soup Reveal

A huge thank you to Lori Anderson who initiated the Bead Soup partnership challenge.  Please visit her blog at http://www.prettythingsblog.com/ to see the master list of all the partnered bloggers and also her outstanding jewelry.

Now just to recap I had Diana Ptaszynski of Suburban Girl as a partner.  She sent me wonderful handmade ceramic beads and then a whole bunch more fun stuff.  Some rose quartz, some fairy ribbons, a sparkly clasp (see below).  I had no trouble imagining what wonderful items I could make with them.

Finishing up

What a great weekend.  I finished up lots of pieces that were hanging about the studio.  I still had some PMC clay rings that I had made in Anne Mitchell’s class at Bead and Button last year.  So I decided to make them into chain.  Then I had made a few lengths of Viking Knit, a shorter one and a long one in the summer on the deck at the farm that I wanted as a necklace.  So I was viewing Anne’s latest class for this year’s Bead and Button which just happily incorporated both Viking Knit and some PMC rings.  Yeah- I had a project.  I also had some pieces of PMC left from Patrick Chan’s class so I fired that and it all went together to make the bracelet and chain and it finished up the shadow box too.  I am really happy with the results.  I also decide to patina this grouping.  It is always hard for me to decide to leave it sparkly silver to to age it with patina.

Finally cleaned the studio-Yeah

Well thank goodness for the long weekend.  I made a ton of mugs this weekend and got to the bottom of the bead table.  It will be so nice to start back into making jewelry now on my nice clean table.  Better take a look now as it won’t stay like this long!!

The fun begins

Now I am making lamp work beads to go with the great assortment of ceramic beads from Diana Ptaszynski .  Check them out.  I am really enjoying making the little owls.  I’m not sure if I will use it in this set but they are fun just the same.  I have used mostly carnelian glass when gives you this wonderful spectrum of peach to deep rosy colors.  Then the silvered glass gives it a sparkle.
