A great time at A Fine Spring Evening

The 2nd annual Fine Spring Evening was held Wednesday at Crystal Park School.  This year I offered to demonstrate glass bead making as a station at the celebration of the arts.  It was a great time.  The students provided an outstanding meal, there were plays and other demonstrations as well as a silent auction and bake sale.

I had a steady stream of young and old who wanted to offer up suggestions to create. There was everything from Submarines to of course angry and not so angry birds.

Fish, Hammerhead and TurtleDragonhead

Angry Birds

Horsehead and Shitzu

I always let the audience pick the colors and the bead to make.  I can usually make it look something like they were thinking.

It really is great fun to get the audience participation and to watch the smiles and excitement as the beads start to take shape.

The hardest part is making people wait to see the finished products once annealed from the kiln.

Tomorrow I get to deliver them to all the people who participated.

March Bead Draw

Happy March everyone.  Hope you enjoyed the Bead Soup posting.  I loved going through all 200 of the other sites.  What a fun way to spend a few hours this weekend.  It is so interesting to see everyone’s interpretation of the beads that others shared.

Now here is this month’s Bead Draw- “Ta whit ta woo” (for those of you old enough to remember Mr. Dress Up!)  Make a comment and you will be entered to win in the draw at the end of the month.
