Hi everyone I signed up for a great earring swap organized by my former fantastic bead soup partner Diana Ptasynski from Suburban Girl studio http://vintagebluestudio.typepad.com/vintage_blue_studio/2012/06/art-bead-earring-swap-reveal.html
Hummingbird Earrings from Stephanie
She got eager participants signed up and then grouped us in threes. Each made two art earrings sets one for each of the other two. My one partner was http://www.pixybugdesigns.blogspot.ca/ Stephanie Haussler
- Classic Black and white from Gail
and my other was http://www.atlastanewyearsresolution.blogspot.ca/ Gail Barnett.
Thank you to Diana for organizing it and to my great partners. I can’t wait to wear them!!!!
Here is the list of the other participants
Hi everyone I will be hosting my annual spring pottery and bead jewelry sale May 9, from 4-8 pm.
It is in my studio at 9725-75 Avenue.
Hope to see you there.
Congratulation to Diane Valasek the winner of March’s bead draw. Here is next months draw which is a large hole flat bead with layers of ivory and amber finished off with silvered glass stringer.
This is the large flat bead it looks great on a chain or you can silver line it.
The 2nd annual Fine Spring Evening was held Wednesday at Crystal Park School. This year I offered to demonstrate glass bead making as a station at the celebration of the arts. It was a great time. The students provided an outstanding meal, there were plays and other demonstrations as well as a silent auction and bake sale.
I had a steady stream of young and old who wanted to offer up suggestions to create. There was everything from Submarines to of course angry and not so angry birds.
Fish, Hammerhead and TurtleDragonhead
Horsehead and Shitzu
I always let the audience pick the colors and the bead to make. I can usually make it look something like they were thinking.
It really is great fun to get the audience participation and to watch the smiles and excitement as the beads start to take shape.
The hardest part is making people wait to see the finished products once annealed from the kiln.
Tomorrow I get to deliver them to all the people who participated.
Here is my Art Auction piece “My Heart’s Desire” for this year’s art auction.
Happy March everyone. Hope you enjoyed the Bead Soup posting. I loved going through all 200 of the other sites. What a fun way to spend a few hours this weekend. It is so interesting to see everyone’s interpretation of the beads that others shared.
Now here is this month’s Bead Draw- “Ta whit ta woo” (for those of you old enough to remember Mr. Dress Up!) Make a comment and you will be entered to win in the draw at the end of the month.
